Choir

SAMA Choir Alongside the SAMA Orchestra, the SAMA Choir is also beginning its activities in Leipzig. The choir focuses on Iranian and Persian-language vocal music and performs together with the SAMA Orchestra in concerts and other projects. The repertoire includes pieces from classical Iranian music, music from different regions of Iran, as well as selected transcultural works. Persian poetry and singing are an important part of the choir’s musical work. Previous choir experience is not required. What matters most is an interest in singing and Iranian music, regular participation in rehearsals, and a willingness to work together as part of a group. Rehearsals usually take place twice a month in Leipzig. The choir also participates in selected SAMA concerts and events. Overall Director: Ali Pirabi Choir Director: Omid Mohammadpour
