Musical Career Thomas Flemming has been involved with Early Music and the historical performance practices of the Medieval and Renaissance periods since his youth. From 2002 to 2013, he was a co-founder and organizational director of the ensemble Asfur. Together with the ensemble, he gave numerous concerts both nationally and internationally and participated in the production of several CD recordings. He learned to play various European lute instruments and, beginning in 2000, devoted himself to modal music, particularly the playing techniques of the Arabic and Turkish oud and the Turkish ney. For this purpose, he regularly attended masterclasses and seminars abroad, where he was influenced by his teachers, including Yurdal Tokcan (oud), Ömer Erdoğdular (ney), and Arsen Petrosyan (duduk). Since 2014, he has been working on sound and music projects and performs concerts as a soloist or in duo formations with various ensembles and percussionists.
