Jalil Taheri

Jalil Taheri was born in 1993 in Isfahan, Iran. After completing his Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, he immigrated to Germany in 2022 and has been living in Leipzig ever since. He currently works as an electrical planner. His musical education began at the age of twelve when he started learning the santur with renowned teachers from Isfahan, including students of the master Faramarz Payvar. In addition to the santur, he also plays the setar, guitar, kamancheh, and hang drum. In Iran, he was active as a santur player in various ensembles and also taught traditional Persian music. Today, Jalil Taheri is a member of the “Klänge der Hoffnung” Orchestra as well as the “SAMA” Ensemble under the direction of Ali Pirabi.
